Overview of the 2022 EQS from Mercedes-EQ
The 2022 EQS from Mercedes-EQ has created a buzz everywhere. And it seems pretty justified as the model is a fully stuffed package of technology, comfort, and style. The vehicle has been termed as the “S-Class of electric vehicles”.
The car will grace our presence in 2022, the first electrified vehicle under the EQ banner to be offered in the US. The S class Sedan is supposed to be followed by the electrified models EQS SUV, EQE SUV, and midsize EQE luxury Sedan.
Keep reading to find out what this new model offers in terms of performance, safety, design, and features. If it’s the one, feel free to visit Mercedes-Benz of Cherry Hill, give the car a drive and find out for yourself what’s so special about it.
The EQS model is a “one bow” design. Three inches shorter than the glass-powered S Class, the EQS model has more width and is taller.
The EQS model indeed looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie because of its A-Pillar, which leans forward, giving the model a Cab Over Engine Design, allowing for a more compact configuration.
Among other cool features, the model has a Black Panel radiator Grille and a 3D Helix Design at the back. It would be justified if the interior was termed as nothing less than beautiful and exotic.
It’s a full package with leather seats with massage functions, adjustable back seats, neck and shoulder heating.
The model comes in two exclusive Trim Designs, and the standard one is EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC®.
Both are electric and have a transmission of Single Speed (automatic). The EQS 450 is a Rear-Wheel drive, while the EQS 580 4MATIC® is an all-wheel drive.
The EQS 450, a single rear electric motor, generates a horsepower of 329 and a torque capacity of 406 Lb-Ft. Acceleration of this model rises to 60mph in a good 5.9 seconds.
If you are looking for something faster, the EQS 580 may be the one for you, reaching an acceleration of 60mph in almost 4 seconds.
This model produces a horsepower of 516 and a 631 Lb-Ft torque.
The Standard Rear Axle Steering System allows the rear wheels to angle up to 4.5 degrees with an optional upgrade of 10 degrees.
The model, due to its design, can be easily fitted into tight spots without a scratch, overall offering a silky and smooth ride.
Technology and Safety
The EQ model has not held back in the areas of technology. The model has an MBUX infotainment system including the 56-inch long hyper screen.
The model also comes with a fingerprint scanner activating individual profiles of the different drivers.
There’s also the ” Hey Mercedes” voice command and six USB-C Ports along with a Burmester Audio system.
The touch screen game of this model is extremely strong. The standard touchscreen is tablet-like emerging from the center console.
The optional hyper screen comes with three distinct screens which include the 12.3-inch gauge cluster, the 12.3-inch passenger side touch screen, and a 17.7-inch central touch screen.
The 2022 Mercedes Benz EQS also comes with a range of driver assistance technology for both the trim levels which includes
- Adaptive cruise control
- Self Parking Assistance
- Standard Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Standard Blind Spot Monitoring
- Standard Lane Departure Warning
- Standard Lane-keeping Assist
- High Beam Assist
- Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
Driving the EQS means that you are in for a safety-filled ride. Both the trim levels offer firm stability during high speed and a perfect handling balance.
