Eco Meets Luxury: The All-New 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS

The future will be electric. The market for electric vehicles continued to grow in 2022, surpassing the record-breaking sales of the previous year. And high-end automakers like Mercedes-Benz are here to meet the demands of discerning customers.
Hence the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz EQS.
This 2023 model is poised to become the new face of luxury electric vehicles. But what exactly makes it special?
To find out, check out this Mercedes-Benz buying guide to get up to speed on the specs and features of this luxury sedan.
2023 Mercedes Benz EQS Performance
The new Mercedes-Benz EQS is the large-format successor to the already popular EQS luxury sedan. It’s the third Mercedes-Benz EQ model vehicle built around their modular EVA2 platform, joining its older cousins the EQS and the EQE sedans. But as a full-size SUV, this new model is the largest vehicle yet to make use of the same all-electric architecture.
The EVA2 platform allows the EQS SUV to pack plenty of horsepower under the hood. The single-motor rear-wheel drive variant packs a respectable 355 hp and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The dual-motor variant features all-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0-60 in only 4.5 seconds.
The New EQS Interior and Exterior
Like the rest of the EQ line, the EQS SUV is designed with efficiency as a core tenet.
While the average SUV is hardly aerodynamically optimized, the EQS sets itself apart. Like its smaller cousins, it is designed from the ground up to achieve the lowest drag efficiency possible, which helps maximize its range.
This design philosophy doesn’t detract from the luxurious interior, however. The EQS features three rows of seating with ample leg and headroom, sitting up to seven people in total. Naturally, the seating arrangement can be configured as needed to allow for additional storage space, making the EQS an excellent choice for carrying passengers or cargo.
EQS Class Features, Tech, and Options
When shopping for a Mercedes-Benz, one of the biggest draws is always the impressive options and feature packages. And the EQS SUV doesn’t disappoint in that category.
For starters, it gets a version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system that you’ll find in other Mercedes models. This includes a 12.8-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on all base models. The more cutting-edge Hyperscreen display from the EQS sedan is optional on these models and comes standard on the EQS 580 4MATIC® edition.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support both come standard and power the 15-speaker Burmester surround-sound system. Other standard features include an augmented-reality navigation tool that projects arrows to show upcoming turns as you approach them and a fingerprint sensor that allows access to personalized driver profiles.
Getting Behind the Wheel of the New Mercedes-Benz EQS
Electric vehicles have come a long way since their introduction. It was once true that few models if any were reliable enough for daily use. Now consumers are almost spoiled for choice.
In that crowded marketplace, the new Mercedes-Benz EQS stands head-and-shoulders above the competition. To see why firsthand, contact us to schedule your test drive today.
