A status symbol since the first SL, the all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL captures all the soul and passion that Mercedes-Benz owners like you deserve. And while this SL is larger and more luxurious than ever, it also comes with some of the most desirable performance, drivability, and seating arrangements that would make even an exotic car owner reconsider their purchase.

Two Thundering Engines

As with other Mercedes-Benz AMG® vehicles, the all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL will have multiple engines available. And with such a competitive lineup at Mercedes-Benz, they decided to not hold any punches with the two massive V-8 engines. And while both the Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL55 and SL 63 are twin-turbocharged and intercooler Double Overhead Cam 32-valve V-8 engines, power does differ between the two:

  • SL55 – 469-horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque
  • SL 63 – 577-horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque

With both engines, a nine-speed automatic transmission either softly shifts during your morning drives or helps quick shift as you push your AMG®-SL to the limit! To control all the power, Mercedes-Benz switched out a traditional torque converter with a multi-plate clutch pack.

Two Types of All-Wheel

While choosing between 469-horsepower and 577-horsepower might be a tough decision, the all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL makes traction something you don’t have to worry about! That is because the 2022 AMG®-SL now comes standard with all-wheel drive, the first time this has ever been offered in an SL model. So, no matter what season it is in Philadelphia, you can now safely take your 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL out for the day.

With all-wheel drive, the performance of both the AMG®-SL55 and SL 63 is more than impressive with straight line 0-60mph clocking in at just 3.8 seconds or 3.5 seconds, respectively. To put this in perspective, the BMW M850i xDrive convertible takes 3.9 seconds while the Lexus LC500 needs 4.7 seconds!

And if the all-wheel-drive wasn’t enough for you, the all-new AMG®-SL also has an all-wheel steering standard on both the SL55 and SL 63. With this system, your 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL is more nimble, cutting the turning circle by around 2 and a half feet!

2+2 Equals More Fun

To make sure more people enjoy the all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG®-SL, Mercedes-Benz redesigned the interior to fit two more seats. Historically, the SL-class was traditionally Mercedes-Benz’s exclusive 2-seater. However, in both the AMG®-SL55 and SL 63, the seating configuration is now a 2+2, which means there are two front seats along with two rear seats.

And while the rear seats won’t be as comfortable as the fronts, there will be plenty of room for showing off the hottest Mercedes-Benz near Philadelphia anytime you want! Either carpooling to school or taking your friends to the club, this will get you there in style.
